Visit Kauai!! 🌺🌺

The food on Kauai was so good and it was easy to find safe gluten free spots across the island.
Here is a list of the places that we ate at during our last visit. We ate out for lunch & dinner every day the whole week, which is not how we usually travel.

West side:
@islandtaco β€” amazing tacos, just let them know that you have celiac and they will let you know what is gluten free and safe. Once they know that you have celiac, they assign a single person to prepare the order on equipment that is only for celiac orders.

@coconut_corner_kauai β€” awesome smoothies, fresh fruits, and coconuts, across the street from Island Taco.

South side:
@holohologrill β€” great kid friendly all day spot with a large amount of clearly marked gluten free options, but no dedicated frier. It’s within the Koloa Landing Resort, which also has the USA Today’s ranked #1 pool in America!

@livingfoodshawaii β€” a very cool market and brunch/dinner restaurant that sells gluten free products and can accommodate in the restaurant, no gluten free claims on the menu, but very knowledgeable servers.

@breakandfeast β€” fabulous brunch/dinner spot! So good and well labeled menu.

@pacos_tacos_hawaii β€” yummy tacos and they have multiple locations. We ate at the Poipu location and they were very clear about which options were gluten free.

@tableatpoipu β€” meat and seafood dinner spot. No gluten free claims on the menu, just speak with your server about safe options.

North side:
@sushigirlkauai β€” dedicated and amazing gluten free sushi! They did have gluten-full soy sauce packets, but just ask for the gluten free packets.

@thebistrokilauea β€” such a great dinner spot and they have a dedicated frier! So good!

@baracudahanalei β€” amazing tapas and are very accommodating to our gluten free needs! Reservations are a must.

@chickeninabarrelbbq_hanalei β€” BBQ!!! All of their plate combos are gluten free and are so good, not the cornbread. They have multiple locations.

@kilaueabakery β€” great smoothies! They sell a couple of gluten free baked goods and pizza, but were told that they weren’t safe for someone with celiac.

We didn’t eat in Lihue, just drove through, but @rainbeaujos is a must stop for coffee and smoothies!

The places that we went to on Kauai understand what it takes to prepare and serve safe gluten free food.
The menus didn’t always carry gluten free claims, but don’t let that stop you. I found that sending a quick text or DM was quick and a direct way to ask all of my usual questions and make a reservation.

Overall, I found that restaurants knew if they could serve us or not, which was refreshing.

Thank you to all of these places for taking the time and care to offer such great and delicious GF foods. πŸ™
