Hamburgers
~Hamburgers~
Serves 3
1 Lb. highest quality ground beef
1 TBSP Herbs de Provence
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp ground cumin
salt & pepper
Mix everything together and form into 3 1/3 lb patties or 4 1/4 lb patties.
To help prevent the patties from bulging in the middle, while cooking, make an indent in the center of each patty.
Heat grill to medium-high.
When hot, spray grill with oil and place patties on the grill.
Grill for about 3-4 minutes, until a nice brown char begins to form and flip.
Do not press down on the patties and turn only once.
Grill patties for 3-4 more minutes.
The doneness of the burger depends on personal preference, but guidelines say that a beef burger is done when the internal temp reaching 160*. Since meat continues to cook for a few minutes after it’s been removed from the heat, the patties can be taken off the grill just before reaching 160*.
Add desired cheese a minute before they are finished.
Let patties rest before serving.
~Suggestions~
Double or triple the recipe and make extra patties, individually wrapping them in plastic wrap, to be stored in the freezer for future burger nights.
See video below to see how I form patties with a fork.
Topping suggestions: sautéed/grilled onions, mushrooms or eggplant, pickles, relish, lettuce, tomatoes, favorite mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, aioli, bacon, or fried egg.
We love using Udi’s Hamburger buns, lettuce wrap or grilled portobello mushrooms for the bun.
Serve with Oven Roasted Potatoes and green salad.
Enjoy!
Happy Cooking
